“I need to let it all out,” thought Fiona as she waited to meet Susan at the cafe on a tree lined street, “it’s been a hell of a week.”
It was Saturday and, like every Saturday, Fiona meet with her friend Susan, a powerful online marketing executive, to have breakfast in their favorite coffee shop and catch up. Today Fiona would tell her all about her new job as head of online marketing for a successful lingerie brand.
Fiona thought back on the week. Between meetings, calls and tasks handover, she had not yet been able to sit down and plan the Black Friday / Cyber Monday campaign. It’s the biggest sales day of the year. She knew that to be successful in her new job she had to deliver great sales results.
When Susan arrived, Fiona blurted out, “Everything is new to me and I don’t know where start, I have no idea how it worked last year, where they sold better and what discounts percentage were applied. What can I do Susan?”
Questions for discussion:
- How did you plan for Black Friday?
- What have you tried in the past? What did you learn?
- What will you try next time? What different results do you expect?
